Description:
BOW Deer Butchering Workshop
Step into your strength and learn the art of deer butchering in a hands-on workshop designed specifically for women who are ready to tackle the wild with confidence.
This workshop will teach the basics of deer butchering and processing techniques and you will leave with the skills and knowledge to accomplish the same on your own. Topics covered include skinning, quartering, meat care, deboning, meat cutting/processing, and packaging.
Katie Vivian, an FWP Region 4 Fisheries Biologist and avid hunter, has graciously offered her home and personal space for all of us to gather and will be sharing her knowledge and lived experiences with the group. Katie is supporting the workshop with harvesting a deer and teaching learned strategies and techniques for basic wild game processing. We recognize everyone may have different opinions and ways of butchering wildlife, and our intent is to create a safe space to share information, ask questions, and learn. Please come with respect, an open mind, and curiosity!?
Women are encouraged to register, anyone 18 or older can register.
