Bat Hike: Join us for our Makoshika State Park Bat Hike. Led by park staff, attendees will participate in a brief presentation about bats, echolocation and their importance to the ecosystem. They will also get a chance to learn how to use bat detectors. These devices capture ultrasonic echolocation from bats, converting them into audible sounds for humans to hear and analyze, which is essential for identifying bat species. These hikes are usually short, family-friendly, and will require proper footwear and water.
